New York City

We spent a whirlwind 36 hours in NYC this weekend, mostly for a long-overdue visit to the two gorgeous boys who were the recipients of this quilt.  While we were there, we saw some old friends, ate (and drank) way too much, and even managed a trip to the Met.

Of course, no trip anywhere is complete without dragging DH to a fabric store kicking and screaming a little fabric shopping.

Purl Soho had the new Lotta Jansdotter prints in and after agonizing for a while I snapped up these two.  As usual, I am kicking myself for not buying more.  I also bought some Lecien stripes and Kei dots, which I always hoard collect when I have the chance.

Purl also had the Yoshiko Jinzenji prints on both quilting cotton and a heavier linen-cotton blend.  I had intended to buy some of the quilting cottons to make a wholecloth quilt, but this linen blend was calling my name instead.   I splurged on 1/2 yard that is destined to become my new fall bag.   This print says New York to me.  See?
