I finally got around to binding this little quilt and adding ties to make a sewing machine cover. I think my machine will be very happy.
I had some trouble deciding how to quilt it; in the end, I decided to echo the bars of color with overlapping bars of quilting. I am pretty happy with the way it came out.
The solids are Kona slate, black, and butterscotch, and the print is one of my favorites, Alexander Henry Heath in black. I love the Heath print--it's one of my favorite "semi-solids" -- and have it stashed in a bunch of colors. I only wish they would come out with more. Are you listening, AH?

I love this!! I need to make a cover for my machines. You've got me thinking now :)
Thanks! I love trying out new blocks and techniques on small projects - this was a perfect one for it. :)
LOVE your new cover! Heath is one of my favs too... but I don't own ANY of it yet! Gah! Must get on that ASAP :-)
Love your color choices too!
Thanks! I recently stashed a couple of similar crosshatch-style semi-solids from Timeless Treasures: http://www.ttfabrics.net/cgi-bin/fabricshop/gallery.cgi?Category=198&file=84&func=show&f=1 -- I am having trouble finding all these amazing colorways. If I could I would be ordering one of each.
Wow, this is beautiful! Love the mixture of fabrics and colors! :)
